Entain - one of the world's largest players in the sports betting and interactive entertainment sector, has officially completed its acquisition of Sportsflare, a technology company specializing in esports betting solutions, for C$13.25 million (approximately $9.9 million).
Sportsflare formerly a wholly owned subsidiary of Tiidal Gaming Group and registered as Tiidal Gaming NZ, will become part of Entain's growing portfolio. The deal gives Entain access to innovative products in the esports betting segment, including high-tech live betting solutions, unique bet types, and tools aimed at a young audience of players.
One of the features of the deal is that the purchase price will be held in the seller's account for 180 days, allowing the parties to take into account possible capital adjustments and settle claims for transaction costs.
According to Tiidal management, the integration of Sportsflare with Entain opens up new opportunities for growth and development of esports betting technologies as part of the buyer's global strategy. This deal strengthens Entain's position in the esports segment and expands its geographic presence, particularly in North America, where Tiidal is actively trading on the exchange.
The acquisition of Sportsflare complements Entain's series of strategic moves in innovation and product line expansion, which previously included the addition of the Unikrn platform and other initiatives to develop digital products in the iGaming industry.
Industry experts note that deals of this kind allow large operators to strengthen business resilience, diversify offerings, and attract new audiences of players in the overlapping segments of sports betting and entertainment, including esports, one of the most dynamically growing markets.
