The world-famous Hard Rock International chain has announced plans to open a new casino in the UK capital. The company has obtained a license to operate the gaming establishment, previously owned by the legendary The Ritz Club, which closed permanently in May 2020 following the COVID-19 pandemic.
Although the exact address of the future casino has not yet been disclosed, it has been confirmed that the project will be implemented in London, one of the world's key centers of hospitality, entertainment, and tourism. The new facility will be an important part of Hard Rock's expansion strategy in Europe and will strengthen the brand's position in the international market.
As part of the casino's reopening process, Wolbis will take an active part in the project, directing invested capital towards the renovation of certain areas of the building, as well as the modernization of outdated technical and operational systems left over from The Ritz Club era. These measures will bring the facility into line with modern standards of safety, comfort, and digitalization in the gaming business.
The license was obtained thanks to the formation of a strategic joint venture with a number of Star Group executives, which opens up opportunities for the development of not only land-based casinos, but also related areas such as the restaurant business and online gambling under a single brand.
Hard Rock International Chairman Jim Allen previously noted that the company intends to introduce its “award-winning model of hospitality, entertainment, and gaming services” in London, adapted to the expectations of a modern international audience.
It is worth noting that the Hard Rock brand already has a strong presence in London, operating a number of restaurants and hotels. The new casino, backed by Wolbis investment, will be a logical extension of this ecosystem and will contribute to the revitalization of one of the UK's most famous gambling destinations.
The project reflects a general industry trend in which leading global operators are combining investment, technology, and expertise to revamp iconic casinos and integrate them into the modern entertainment industry model.
